Final Thoughts.....

This book brought tears to my eyes through out! I want to think as myself as a strong woman in today's society, however reading this book makes me wonder what some women think about themselves! I did enjoy reading this book, it really opened my eyes.

Some of the things in this book made me sick to my stomache, why some women can't break the cycle and let things happen over and over when reality there is help, but they as people have to realize their inner voice and inner self to get it. I wonder if they were to look at women today what the outcome would be?

This has been a very interesting read, and to be honest I don't think I would of read this book if it wasn't on the list, but I am truly glad that is was. For I see things somewhat differently, but I still do not understand how a women could be so quiet, we all need to have a voice so that mean every women needs to find it!!

Chapter 10 Connected Teaching

I really like the one " The Teacher as Mid-wife. I never looked at a mid-wife in that nature! I can actually picture at. The mid-wife helps draw out the knowledge, or expand on their knowledge.

To me one has to be connected in a classroom, or the learning environment doesn't exist for the student. The teacher might lead, but the student can not depend on that teacher to expand their knowledge the student needs to do that on their own.

Objectivity in Connected Teaching:
I really enjoyed what the 56 year old women said about her adult program, she keeps discovering things inside herself, what she sees herself for the first time through the eyes of others! That to me was powerful.

Teachers are in a powerful position, and from that I only hope if I decide to teach one day that I can be an instructor who is powerful in knowledge so others can build on theirs!

Chapter 9 Toward an Education for Women

This chapter starts out with two women, their first experience in a college class, and I do not understand why one dropped a class just because of the instructors opening thoughts. To me, she is the one being a coward and not stepping up to the plate to learn or want to learn something new. How can you prove something to the world if you dont take that first step.

"A women, like any other human being, does need to know that the mind makes mistakes; but our interviews hae convinced us that every woman, regardless of age, social class, ethinicity, and acadmeic achievement, needs to know that she is capable of intelligent though, and she needs to know it right away."

~WOW!~

I sit here and think to myself, I never thougth I was dumb, or not intelligent enough to go to college or do anything that I wanted to do. So my question is, why does it say all women? I know plenty of women who know they are intelligent in their own ways and they caring themselves very well!

Being 34, I have seen a lot of things in my life. I never have let one thing ever beat me, nor get me down. I listen to my inner voice, my outter voice and other so I can make my own decisions on a level that is respectful to all. What I don't understand is how women think so low of themselves!  Why must one complain about their instructor, change it, do whatever it takes to make it better for you, just don't sit there and complain, who cares if one complains, what is that going to do for you.

College for me was an eye opener, and I loved every minute of it! It was a challenge, and I welcomed it.
